Managing multiple client accounts can be a challenging task for digital marketers and agencies. Google Ads gives you the possibility to manage client's accounts from a single account know as MCC (which stands for My Client Center).
One of the key benefits of using Google Ads MCC is the time-saving advantage it offers. Instead of logging in and out of individual client accounts, users can access all accounts with just one set of login credentials. This not only saves time but also reduces the risk of errors and ensures a more organized workflow. With MCC, users can quickly switch between accounts, compare performance metrics, and implement changes across multiple campaigns simultaneously, ultimately improving productivity and efficiency.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Create a New Google Account (Optional)
- If you don't have a separate Google account for your agency or business, create one. This will be the primary account for your MCC.
2. Access the Manager Account Creation Page
3. Create Your Manager Account
- Sign in with the Google account you want to use for the MCC.
- Give your Manager Account a name. This will be visible to clients when linked.
- Choose how you plan to use the account: Manage your own accounts or manage others' accounts.
- Select your country and time zone.
- Choose a permanent currency for your account billing.
- Click "Submit."
4. Link Client Accounts to Your MCC
- Obtain Client Account IDs: Ask your clients for their Google Ads account IDs. These are usually a series of numbers.
- Send Link Requests: In your MCC, go to “Accounts”, then to “Sub-accounts settings" and click "+ Link existing account." Enter the client's account ID and send the request.
- Client Approval: The client needs to approve the link request from their Google Ads account settings (Under Access and Security, they can check the request on the Managers tab).
Additional Tips
- Clear Naming Convention: Use a consistent naming convention for your MCC and linked accounts for easy management.
- Organize Accounts: Utilize labels and custom segments to organize your client accounts effectively.
- Security: Implement strong security measures, such as two-factor authentication, to protect your MCC and client accounts.
